Teachers needed urgently!
ENJOY THE CHALLENGE
We are a small group of schools based in Afghanistan teaching international children whose parents are here working as volunteers to help the local people.
A new teacher is needed for the coming school year i.e. 2006-2007 for the school in Kabul. The school is based in Kabul (max 35 students) and has sister schools in Maimana (4 students) Herat (6 children) Mazar-I-sharif (11 children). All the schools are growing. We need you.
We need trained teachers who will:
- Come for a school year, August to end of June (maybe longer)
- Commit to teaching international children first and foremost
- Teach multiple grades (usually two but maybe more in some smaller areas) Kindergarten to Grade 8
- Be creative, innovative and flexible
- Teach in a small school for children from different nationalities, some with no English when they come
- Teach a wide variety of subjects using curriculae from a variety of countries eg. USA, Scotland, New Zealand, Canada, U.K.
- Work with teachers from different countries
- Commit to quality education without all the “things” schools at home have so school is affordable for parents working here without a salary
- Be a team player and willing to do things differently
- Be a committed Christian
- Teach one subject to a variety of grades
- Live in a country in the process of change with the challenges and frustrations and joys this brings
- Manage the dust in the summer, the snow in the winter and the mud in between
- Work as a volunteer (i.e. raise your own support so you can be here and share in this exciting adventure too)
